Humanity in Science

One of Fasha's most notorious and unabashed personality traits is his sincere passion for philanthropy. Forcing innocent people to see him dance in a coconut bra to raise awareness for leukemia, screaming like a baby while leaping from skyscrapers to send youths to life-changing wilderness programs, and baring his shiny shaved head for months on end to fundraise for global charities have all been part of his pursuit to support causes that mean so much to him. His desire to support hands-on giving –paired with financial backing—has moved mountains throughout the world. Fasha has organized the making of over 400,000 meals, by hand, for hungry children in third world countries with his employees in the US and abroad, and for the past 5 years, he has provided clothing, food, books, school tuition, and mentors for children in a Hyderabad, India orphanage. He even flew to the jungles of Belize with fellow colleagues to help build a school, just to name a few of his endeavors.

Abseiling/ Rapelling for The Outward Bound Trust

On September 3rd, 2012, Fasha leapt off the 87th floor of The Shard in London, Europe’s tallest building, to raise funds for The Outward Bound Trust. Alongside a handful of other adventurous philanthropists and led by the Chairman of The Outward Bound Trust, His Royal Highness The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, the group abseiled/rappeled down 1,056 feet (the highest ever attempted by any civilian) all in support of the educational charity.

On September 7 2015, Fasha Mahjoor, yet again, abseiled/rappeled a leap off not one, but three iconic London skyscrapers—helping to raise a record-breaking £2,000,000/$3,040,000 (and counting) in a single day for The Outward Bound Trust. Mahjoor descended from three buildings known locally as The Gherkin, The Cheesegrater, and The Walkie-Talkie during the City Three Peaks Challenge to aid the Trust. Mahjoor’s goal was to raise £100,000/$156,000, of which he personally donated £33,333/$50,000. www.mahjoor4charity.com

The Outward Bound Trust has enabled over one million underprivileged youth to participate in challenging outdoor programs, providing life lessons in responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Through the education and courses provided by The Outward Bound Trust (and its many global affiliates), young people clearly see, perhaps for the first time, what they are truly capable of achieving.
